End of Year Goals

urban outfitters diary

Deep breath, guys.

There's only 4 months left of the year. We're two thirds of the way through.

W T F ? ? ?

Realistically, I actually have accomplished a lot this year. I wrote my dissertation, graduated from Cardiff Uni, been on three holidays and am really liking the direction my blog is going in. (Pretending my brief blog break down earlier didn't happen...).

There is a lot more I want to accomplish by the end of the year though. IRL and online.

Get a (good) job.

My standards are not particularly high. I don't want a high roller job, I don't even want a job related to my degree. I just want a job that's not soul destroying. A steady 9-5 so I can enjoy weekends and have my own money for the first time, like, ever. Not having anywhere to go in the day or having any money in taking a serious toll on my mental health and general happiness at the moment, so this is kind of an urgent one.

Grow my blog.

I think I understand where my strengths lie now. I've found my not-so-niche area of blogging and I'm happpy. I'm really not in this for the numbers and hardly ever check my stats, but when I do it's nice to see a steady growth! I've got a few little milestones in my head that I'd like to reach, but as long as I keep moving foward it's all gravy, baby.

Rekindle old friendships.

I've drifted away from some of my closest friends this last year or so. I was having the time from hell on a placement year while everyone else was in their final year, then I was struggling through my dissertation and final exams while everyone else was cracking on with grown up life. It all made it very hard to see people as much as I would like. I WILL spend this next few months putting some energy into old friendships and showing the love to my best friends. Life is too short to drift from friends.

Eat cleaner.

I love healthy food. Unhealthy food like pizza, burgers and chips do very little for me. BUT SWEETS THO??? Biscuits and cakes and peanut butter everything just do weird things to me. I'm like a woman possessed. I work so hard in the gym and absolutely love it, but come home and undo all my hard work by eating like Willy Wonka has the munchies. My sister recently lost around 4 stone and she looks bloody incredible so I need to take a little leaf out of her book.

Join the scary world of YouTube.

I've been saying for months that I'd love to have a go at vlogging. It fucking terrifies me, though. I'm not an A* MUA, I don't do particularly exciting things, I have zero money and am terribly unphotogenic so I just don't know what I could add to the already HUGELY saturated YouTube community. The fear of walking down the street talking to a camera in my little town also makes me want to bury myself in the core of the earth. I want to try it so bad, though. UGH.

All pretty achieveable goals, I think. But this year has been so weird and overwhelming so however it ends I think I'll look back on 2016 with an overwhelming feeling of pure WTF.

What are your "final quarter" goals? If you have any tips for any of my goals, help a sister out and holla in the comment section!

  2. Good luck with your goals! I'm still working on my goals I set at the start of 2016. I don't think I'll accomplish some of them now though. But that's mainly because circumstances have changed, and that can't be helped. As long as I'm doing my best, that's all that matters I think! x www.aimeeraindropwrites.co.uk x

    1. I didn't really set any goals at the start of the year - I just wanted to get through uni! As long as you're trying and haven't just give up then you've already accomplished something! Xx
